Airsoft is a strategy game. Players develop plans and strategies to defeat the opposing team, with organized attacks or playing a very good defense tactics. In many cases, they will have to approach the opponent without getting noticed and in some cases in radio silent. But what happens when you have to talk to your team without being heard?

The solution is called hand signals. Silent and usually more reliable than talking through a PMR radio, they are the best solution when you do not want to be heard by the opponent.

Here is a pictorial list of the best known hand signals. You can use or modify them as best suited to your team:

It is used to indicate movement (e.g. let’s go!) or part of a command (you, move it)

Stop!

You ask from the team to stop any movement

Listen

It is used to indicate that you are listening to a sound or to ask from your team to listen to a sound or something that you need to say

See

It is used to indicate that you see something or to ask from your team to see something

.

Fast

It is used to say to your team to move fast (your fist is moved up and down)

Freeze

It is used to say to your team to remain still, with no movement at all. It is very useful for night scenarios.

Cover

You ask your team to cover your place.

Enemy

Enemy in front of you

Hostage

Useful in games with hostages.

Sniper

It is used to show a sniper

Leader

It is used to show that there is a leading / head officer 

Group formation

It is used to ask your team to form a group

Side by side formation

It is used to adopt a side by side formation

Rally point

You ask your team to come to you

Handgun

You indicate that the enemy is using an airsoft handgun / pistol

Rifle

You indicate that the enemy is using an airsoft rifle

Shotgun

You indicate that the enemy is using an airsoft shotgun

Run out of Ammo!

You ask BB’s from your teammates

Vehicle

To show that you see a vehicle.

Affermative (YES)

You show to the team that you understood what they told you

Negative (NO)

You show to the team that you have not understood what they told you or to say “NO”

Stay down

It is used to ask from the team to keep low or to stay down

Smell

It is used to point out a smell.

Door

It is used to show a door.

Window

It is used to show a window

Entry point of the team.
